Women’s Pioneer Society of Australasia Community Links
In recent years the Women’s Pioneer Society has visited:
- Matong and Murrami Public Schools near Narrandera
- Bogong, St Patrick’s and Gundagai South Schools in the Gundagai district, to present the Arthur Phillip Awards for Colonial History.
- The Society visited Tumbarumba interacting with Local historians and visiting the Pioneer Women’s Hut.

Women’s Pioneer Society Education Awards
Each year the Women’s Pioneer Society endeavours to give an Australian History Award to students at the:
University of Sydney
NSW University
Macquarie University
The Women’s Pioneer Society has also presented awards at Secondary School level and an Arthur Phillip award has been inaugurated for primary schools.
The Society will provide a guest speaker to organisations or schools to further the education of our early history.The placing of awards, wherever possible, into the education system for excellence in the study of our early history 1788-1901, also including the interaction of settlers with our indigenous people.The study of the effects on women during this period and the role they played in the development of the colony.
